![]() But nah – I doubt that DAZ or NVIDIA will dump Iray. Iray support likely will be kept – otherwise, if NVIDIA dumps Iray, just keep DS 4.5 and don’t update the video driver. That should tell you how long it’s been around.) So I’m not expecting a Linux version, but I am prepared to be surprised by one. I’d really love to see a Linux version, but I’m totally not holding my breath – Qt has been FOSS and supported on Linux long before DAZ Studio existed (note that the Qt compat page mentions “X11” and not “XOrg” or newer, for instance. I’ll just watch and see what is going on. I heard from a friend that they just lost their “newest” Art Director. I find it very odd that Daz itself announced this anywhere officially - but considering the entire Daz management and crew are no longer the same as 6 months ago, it’s anyone’s guess. UNTIL SOMEONE finally makes a UV Converter tool (like Zev0) about a year down the road. Same goes for what I have seen with Genesis 3 going to Genesis 8 (which is really Genesis 3.1… to force us to buy even more repeats, especially the plug ins and UV tools etc, they simply changed the way the UVs work on Genesis 8.1, and now we have to buy BRAND NEW CHARACTERS because the UVs don’t match the hundreds of G8 characters we already spent millions on. ![]() EVERY damned plugin we paid for, didn’t get UPGRADED, we had to REBUY a full version. If any of you were around from the VERY BEGINNING of DAZ STUDIO (versions from before 1.0 and above) and the fiascos between 3.1 Pro and 4.0, then 4.5 and the complete rewrite of 4.6 when companies were changing hands and hated what the prior developers did - We the CUSTOMERS paid dearly for it. ![]()
